As a large SUV, the Sequoia has been the choice for many Toyota drivers looking for their next family ride. However, for nearly 15 years, this model has remained unchanged and has been overshadowed by other models. For the 2023 model year, that all changes. With a full redesign, the Sequoia now has a new look, a powerful engine, and updated features. So, once again, this SUV is a compelling choice.

Highlights of the 2023 Toyota Sequoia

This year, the Sequoia will only be available with one powertrain. Under the hood will be a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine combined with an electric motor. A 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive will come standard. Though four-wheel drive is optional for most trims. And with this combination, the Sequoia can produce 437 horsepower and 583 pounds of torque.

Though this model only has one engine, its fuel economy will differ depending on the drivetrain. This model is estimated to get 21/24 mpg when equipped with rear-wheel drive. And with four-wheel drive, this model gets 19/22 mpg.

Across its trims, drivers will find plenty of tech, such as a 14-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and smartphone mirroring. And to ensure your safety, this model comes standard with plenty of advanced driver-aids. These include forward-collision warning, a blind-spot monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.
